Americans seem to share a compulsion for marking their territory and their boundaries with fences. Fences can also be used as visual accents in a landscape, providing a backdrop for a planting, a frame for climbing plants, or camouflage for the gas tank.

Tip:
You can use old motor oil to treat the bottoms of your posts to protect them from moisture. Also add some sand/gravel to your post hole to keep water draining away from the wood.
